Escrow Accounts Implemented for PMFBY from Kharif 2025
The revised Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Operational Guidelines of 2023 have introduced an Escrow Account mechanism requiring states and UTs to commit their premium subsidy shares in advance. This account facilitates timely disbursement of subsidies, with 20 states having already adopted the system from the Kharif 2025 season. However, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Manipur, Mizoram, and Sikkim are yet to comply.
