Establishment of Cyber Crime Units in India
The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, led by Minister of State Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, announced the establishment and enhancement of cyber crime units across the country. This initiative includes the formation of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, aimed at enabling public reporting of cyber offences. Efforts also include a Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre for cooperation among financial and law enforcement entities, and regional coordination centers for improved interstate collaboration. The number of cyber crime police stations has substantially increased, reflecting India's focus on combating cyber crime effectively.
