Establishment of IP Education Cells for Artists
The Ministry of Culture is launching dedicated Intellectual Property (IP) Education Cells to enhance awareness and protection of IP rights among artists in India. These cells will facilitate IP registration and support Geographical Indication (GI) registration for traditional products. The initiative aims to preserve India's cultural heritage and promote traditional knowledge, with the Sangeet Natak Akademi acting as the nodal agency for IP rights. The Ministry collaborates with CIPAM to strengthen IP initiatives in the cultural sector.
