Expansion of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to Enhance Healthcare Access in India
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has expanded public healthcare access by operationalizing over 1.82 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs nationwide. These centers, a part of the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres initiative, provide free diagnostics and drugs, reducing out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Additionally, support through National Health Mission initiatives like telemedicine and mobile medical units aim at improved healthcare access, especially in underserved rural areas. This expansion aligns with India's successful reduction in Maternal Mortality Ratio and Infant Mortality Rate over recent years.
