Expansion of Cancer Care by Tata Memorial Centre

The Department of Atomic Energy, through Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), has expanded its cancer care facilities across seven Indian states, establishing 11 hospitals to provide comprehensive cancer care. These facilities, located in cities such as Mumbai, Varanasi, and Guwahati, aim to utilize Indian systems of medicine and traditional knowledge for drug discovery. Additionally, cutting-edge technologies for radiopharmaceuticals and rare earth element (REE) exploration reduce import dependency, supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
