Expansion of FASTag Ecosystem

The Indian Government, through the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), has enhanced the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for managing FASTags, including blacklisting non-compliant tags. Recent circulars mandate that vehicles without valid FASTags pay double fees, and a structured reporting format has been introduced for fee collection agencies. A Fintech Workshop was held to discuss expanding FASTag's utility into areas like fuel payments and EV charging, aiming to create a unified digital mobility platform.
