The Ministry of Communications in India is advancing rural internet connectivity via BharatNet and Digital Bharat Nidhi initiatives. BharatNet aims to supply broadband to 2.64 lakh Gram Panchayats, including 46,746 in Uttar Pradesh, alongside 3.8 lakh non-GP villages, while DBN targets 39,799 rural villages with 4G connectivity by end of 2025.
