Expansion of National Seismological Network in India

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has significantly expanded the National Seismological Network since 2014, increasing operational seismic observatories from 84 to 168. Monthly earthquake reports are issued, with 39 significant earthquake reports since April 2020. Seismic microzonation has been conducted in various cities, with ongoing projects in over 30 cities, including major urban areas like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
