Expansion of PACS Across Panchayats

As of June 30, 2025, 2,51,872 out of 2,69,230 Gram Panchayats in India are covered by Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). The government aims to establish 2 lakh multipurpose PACS, Dairy, and Fishery cooperative societies to enhance coverage, especially in underserved areas. A Standard Operating Procedure has been launched to ensure timely implementation, with various committees formed for effective monitoring at different levels.
