Expansion of PMFME Scheme

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has sanctioned 1,44,517 loans under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, totaling Rs. 11,501.79 crore, as of June 30, 2025. The scheme aims to support micro food processing units and groups, with a significant increase in loans sanctioned over the years. A mid-term evaluation recommends the continuation of the scheme, but no proposal has been submitted for its extension. The Gross Value Added (GVA) in the food processing industry has shown a steady increase, contributing 1.39% to the overall GVA of the country.
