Expansion of Vibrant Villages Programme by the Government of India

The Government of India has extended its Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) to further develop border villages. Following the initial focus on northern border villages (VVP-I), VVP-II has now been launched for villages along international land borders in 15 States and 2 Union Territories. These initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure and livelihood in these areas. Under VVP-I, significant projects have been undertaken with an expenditure of ₹3431.00 crore including various local activities to boost community engagement.
