The Ministry of Heavy Industries has extended the PM E-DRIVE Scheme's duration by two years, now set to run until March 31, 2028. Initially launched in September 2024 with a budget of ₹10,900 crore for two years, the scheme aims to promote electric vehicle adoption and infrastructure in India. The extension addresses challenges faced by e-trucks and e-buses, ensuring continued support for the electric vehicle ecosystem. However, the funding is limited, and if the budget is exhausted before the new deadline, the scheme will be closed.
