Fast Track Special Courts Scheme Update

The Ministry of Law and Justice has reported on the Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) scheme, which was initiated in October 2019 to expedite trials for rape and POCSO cases. As of June 30, 2025, 725 FTSCs, including 392 exclusive POCSO courts, are operational across 29 states/UTs, having disposed of over 334,000 cases. The scheme has been extended until March 2026, with a financial outlay of ₹1952.23 crore, primarily funded by the Nirbhaya Fund. The disposal rate in FTSCs is significantly higher than in regular courts, indicating improved efficiency in handling such sensitive cases.
