Fencing Progress on Indo-Bangladesh Border

As of August 2025, 1647.696 km of the 2216.7 km Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal has been fenced. Of the remaining 569.004 km, 456.224 km is feasible for fencing, with land acquisition processes ongoing for 378.289 km. The Indian government is taking steps to expedite land acquisition. Additionally, data from the last three years shows significant illegal infiltration and cross-border crimes, including narcotics and cattle seizures.
