Finance Commission Bolsters Andhra Pradesh's Panchayati Raj Bodies With Robust Funding

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj outlines substantial financial outlays and initiatives under the 15th Finance Commission and other schemes, aimed at empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across Andhra Pradesh. Over the past three years, significant allocations have been made under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) and the Incentivisation of Panchayats (IoP) schemes. However, unspent funds and a lack of documentation have caused delays in release. Key initiatives include infrastructure development, digitalization through the Mission Mode Project on e-Panchayats, and the SVAMITVA scheme for property rights. Andhra Pradesh has witnessed numerous infrastructural projects, training programs for capacity building, and the development of digital tools to optimize governance.
