First Mile Connectivity Projects in Coal Transportation

The Ministry of Coal is implementing First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects to modernize coal evacuation by replacing traditional road transport with mechanized systems. These projects aim to reduce air pollution, enhance coal quality, and lower operational costs. By FY2030, 102 FMC projects with a capacity of 1,092 MT are planned, with 44 already operational. The total investment for these projects is approximately ₹31,367.66 crore, marking a significant shift towards sustainable coal logistics.
