First Robotic Custom Laser Cataract Surgery in India
On August 28, 2025, the Army Hospital Research and Referral (AHRR) became the first government institute in India and the second in South Asia to perform Robotic Custom Laser Cataract Surgery using the ALLY Adaptive Cataract Treatment System. This procedure, conducted by Brigadier SK Mishra on a 61-year-old patient, marks a significant advancement in military medical care, utilizing Femto-second Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) for enhanced precision and outcomes.
