Fisheries Infrastructure Development under PMMSY

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has allocated Rs. 17,210.46 crore for fisheries infrastructure projects under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) from 2020-2025. This initiative aims to enhance fisheries infrastructure across various states, generating significant employment opportunities. The PMMSY has also established 34 fisheries clusters and supports the formation of Fish Farmers Producer Organizations (FFPOs) to empower fishers economically. Additionally, the scheme encourages startups in the fisheries sector with financial assistance and project approvals.
