Fourth Meeting of Scientific Steering Committee on One Health Commences

On December 18, 2025, the fourth meeting of the Scientific Steering Committee for India's National One Health Mission was held in New Delhi, presided over by Prof. Ajay K. Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. The mission aims to address health challenges at the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. The meeting included representatives from over 16 ministries and departments. Discussions focused on strengthening the collaboration between the central government, states, and union territories, and featured updates from various advisory and review committees. A significant outcome of the meeting was the approval of a new One Health Genomics Consortium. The meeting also highlighted the mission's role in global resilience bolstering, as emphasized at the Biological Weapons Convention's 50th-anniversary commemoration.
