FSSAI Cracks Down on Milk Adulteration
In FY 2024-25, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), alongside various State/UT Food Safety Authorities, analyzed 33,405 samples of milk and milk products, uncovering 12,780 samples as non-conforming and launching legal actions against 12,057 Food Business Operators for violations. This is part of a broader initiative to enforce food safety regulations under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, through coordinated inspections and surveillance drives. The initiative aims to mitigate food adulteration and ensure the supply of safe, wholesome food to consumers.
