As of the financial year 2025-26, there are 293 operational Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSS) across India, with significant numbers in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is establishing new JSSs, focusing on underdeveloped areas. The budget for the JSS scheme for this year is ₹185 crore, with strict monitoring of fund utilization to prevent mismanagement.
