GeM Platform Boosts Micro, Small Enterprises Participation in Government Procurement
The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) in India has become a significant enabler for micro and small enterprises (MSEs), women entrepreneurs, SC/ST businesses, and startups in accessing government procurement opportunities. As of November 2025, over 11.25 lakh MSEs have registered on the platform, securing orders worth ₹7.44 lakh crore, surpassing the 25% procurement target. Women-led MSEs have also contributed significantly to this inclusive economic growth, facilitated by initiatives like "Womaniya". The platform provides essential features to identify and prioritize MSEs, enhancing transparency and efficiency in the procurement processes.
