General Elections 2026: Asset Seizures Rise to Rs. 650 Crores
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has enforced stringent measures to ensure fair elections across Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. Since the activation of the Electronic Seizure Management System, over Rs. 650 crores have been seized, including cash, liquor, and drugs. The ECI promotes vigilance through Flying squads and Static Surveillance Teams to address electoral malpractices and maintain compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
