Goa and Maharashtra Receive Rs. 592 Crores for Panchayati Raj Institutions

The Indian Union Government has sanctioned Rs. 592 crores under the Fifteenth Finance Commission to support Panchayati Raj Institutions in Goa and Maharashtra during the fiscal year 2025-2026. The untied grants will allow these rural bodies to address specific local needs, while tied grants will ensure provisions for sanitation and clean water services. The funds are distributed annually in two installments, as recommended by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
