Google's 1-GW Data Centre in Visakhapatnam to Boost Andhra Pradesh's Economy
The Union Minister of State for Communications, Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, announced that Google's upcoming 1-GW hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam is projected to generate ₹10,000 crore in revenue for Andhra Pradesh. The $15 billion investment over five years will create 5,000-6,000 direct jobs and 20,000-30,000 total jobs, enhancing the state's infrastructure and positioning it as a digital hub. The project also includes India's first AI hub, marking a significant step in the state's AI-driven transformation.
