Government Allocates Rs. 2,000 Crore for EV Charging Infrastructure

The Indian government has allocated Rs. 2,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri E-DRIVE scheme to enhance the deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure nationwide. The initiative will see the implementation of infrastructure solutions like battery swapping stations and EV charging stations across metros, smart cities, and major towns. Entitled entities, such as governmental departments and Public Sector Undertakings, can submit proposals for setting up EV public charging stations, with capital subsidies available based on location.
