Government Announces Establishment of New Textile Parks Under PM MITRA Scheme

The Government of India has finalized the establishment of PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks at seven locations: Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Despite no current plans for new parks under the PM MITRA Scheme, the government has introduced initiatives such as the 'Setting up of Mega Textile Parks in Challenge mode' in the Union Budget 2026-27 to optimize early sanctioning and implementation. Additionally, various schemes like the National Handloom Development Programme and National Handicrafts Development Programme are implemented to support artisanal sectors across India.
