Government Boosts Creative Economy with WAVES Summit 2025
The Indian government, recognizing the potential of the creative economy to provide economic opportunities for youth, held the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. WAVES aimed to position India as a global hub for content creation, foster local and international collaborations, and support Indian creators. The event facilitated connections between creators and industry leaders through 140 sessions, including plenaries and masterclasses. Key initiatives include the launch of WaveX incubation centres, WAVES Bazaar for market access, and the Create in India Challenge (CIC) for discovering creative talent. Additional measures include the establishment of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and Prasar Bharati's integration of digital talents into public broadcasting. India's policies emphasize a safe and fair cyberspace with rules supporting transparency and creators' rights.
