Government Enforces Price Transparency in Pan Masala Packaging

The Department of Consumer Affairs in India has mandated the display of Retail Sale Price (RSP) on all pan masala packages, as per the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Second (Amendment) Rules, 2025, effective February 1, 2026. This change aims to enhance consumer transparency and support GST compliance by ensuring all pack sizes, including those under 10 grams, print their prices and required declarations.
