Government Enhances LPG Subsidy Transfers and Curb Misuse

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, led by Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, has implemented measures to strengthen LPG subsidy transfers through the PAHAL scheme and Aadhaar authentication. Over 4 crore duplicate LPG connections have been deactivated to prevent misuse. The government has introduced various initiatives, including biometric authentication, a Common LPG Database Platform for de-duplication, and a robust grievance redressal system to enhance consumer experience and service transparency. The PAHAL scheme has been effective in ensuring targeted subsidy delivery and improving overall efficiency in LPG distribution.
