Government Enhances Support for Farmers under PM-AASHA Scheme

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, through the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA), is enhancing support to farmers by implementing the Price Support Scheme (PSS) and Price Deficit Payment Scheme (PDPS). These initiatives ensure farmers receive fair prices by procuring commodities at Minimum Support Price (MSP) when market rates drop. The mission focuses on pulses, oilseeds, and copra and aims for domestic production growth until 2030-31. The government has also launched supportive measures like digital trading platforms and infrastructure financing to strengthen the agricultural sector.
