Government Expands Tribal Schemes Under DhartiAabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan
The Government of India, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, launched the DhartiAabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) on October 2, 2024. This ambitious initiative, involving 25 distinct interventions across 17 Ministries, seeks to uplift tribal communities by addressing infrastructural deficits in over 63,843 villages. The Abhiyan targets tribal-majority areas with a substantial focus on providing essential infrastructure, livelihood opportunities, and educational support. With a budget allocation of ₹79,156 crores, it aims to benefit about 5 crore tribals across 549 districts in 30 States and UTs, significantly impacting regions like Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh.
