Government Implements Measures for Timely Crop Insurance Claims
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has introduced various initiatives to enhance the efficiency and timeliness of claims under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS). These measures include the development of the National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP), the Digiclaim Module for monitoring claim disbursal, and the mandatory use of the Crop Loss Assessment App (CLAP) for localized calamities. The government aims to ensure accurate claims processing through technology integration and accountability measures for state governments and insurance companies.
