Government Implements Measures to Tackle JNPA Port Congestion
The Government of India has launched a coordinated initiative to mitigate port congestion at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) due to trailer driver shortages at Container Freight Stations (CFS). Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Sarbananda Sonowal devised strategies such as rail evacuations, waivers on handling charges, and trailer pooling to sustain trade operations under the Ease of Doing Business initiative.
