Government Initiates PACS Modernization in Andhra Pradesh

The Government of India has initiated the Central Project for Computerization of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) with the aim of modernizing 79,630 PACS across the nation by implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based system. In Andhra Pradesh, 19 PACS have become defunct with liquidation orders issued for 15 and 2 recommended for revival. The project aims to integrate PACS with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) through state cooperative banks and district central cooperative banks. 2,021 of the 2,037 approved PACS in Andhra Pradesh have already been onboarded onto the ERP software.
