Government Initiates Rehabilitation Programs for Manual Scavengers

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has conducted a comprehensive survey on manual scavenging and continues to provide One-time Cash Assistance (OTCA), skill development training, and capital subsidies to identified manual scavengers. While no new manual scavengers were identified, ongoing efforts include providing safety equipment and promoting mechanized sanitation to prevent hazardous working conditions.
