Government Initiatives Boost Fisheries Sector in India
The Government of India has implemented numerous schemes over the past five years, greatly enhancing the fisheries sector. These include Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF), which aim to increase fish production and improve fishers' income through infrastructural development and financial support. As a result, fish production and exports have risen significantly.
