Government Initiatives Enhance PMJJBY Enrolment and Claim Settlement
The Ministry of Finance has implemented measures to increase enrolment and ensure timely disbursement of benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). As of February 2026, there are approximately 26.79 crore beneficiaries and 12.55 crore active policies. The scheme boasts a 99.95% claim settlement ratio, with claims typically processed within 0.61 to 17 days. Efforts to boost participation include the Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign and the Jansuraksha Portal, which has streamlined enrolments and claims across the country.
