Government Initiatives for Empowering Tribal Communities

The Indian Ministry of Science & Technology is actively working to uplift the socio-economic conditions of marginalized tribal communities through various mission-driven projects. The CSIR Aroma Mission promotes aromatic crop cultivation across several states, helping increase farmers' income and support the essential oil industry. Initiatives like the Sickle Cell Anemia Mission and the Smart Village Mission focus on health and sustainable development. Additionally, the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) supports over 96 projects in diverse agricultural and empowerment-focused areas, while the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, through TRIFED and NSTFDC, offers financial assistance and entrepreneurship opportunities. These collective efforts aim to create self-managed and sustainable economic improvements in tribal and rural areas.
