Government Initiatives for Science and Technology Parks and Innovation Centres

The Indian Government is promoting the establishment of Science and Technology Parks and Innovation Centres, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. The Department of Science & Technology (DST) is implementing the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) with a budget of Rs. 3,660 crore, which includes projects like 'Bharat-Gen' for developing AI solutions in 22 languages. Additionally, Centres of Excellence in AI have been set up in various institutes, and 25 Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) have been established across India, focusing on diverse technology verticals such as Robotics, IoT, Cybersecurity, and more. The government aims to enhance collaboration between academia, startups, and industry to accelerate AI research and applications in sectors like healthcare and agriculture.
