Government Initiatives to Enhance Exports and Imports

The Government of India has implemented several initiatives to expedite exports and imports under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) framework, as stated by Union Minister of State for Finance, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary. Key measures include enhanced facilitation for AEO certificate holders, such as Direct Port Delivery, automated clearance, and relaxed bank guarantee norms. As of June 30, 2025, 5,892 AEO certificates have been issued. The government has also conducted outreach programs to raise awareness, particularly among MSMEs, and signed Mutual Recognition Arrangements with foreign customs administrations to improve global trade efficiency.
