Government Issues Show Cause Notices to Edible Oil Companies for VOPPA Non-Compliance

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution in India is enforcing the Vegetable Oil Products, Production and Availability Amendment Order, 2025 (VOPPA). This order requires edible oil firms to register on the National Single Window System and file monthly returns. The Department of Food and Public Distribution has increased inspections to ensure compliance and has issued Show Cause Notices to non-compliant companies. Additional workshops are planned to facilitate proper adherence to regulations.
