Government Prioritizes Financial Inclusion with New Insurance Schemes
The Indian government has launched flagship insurance schemes aimed at providing affordable insurance and health protection to all citizens, particularly SC, ST, and OBC communities. The Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign has reached 2.7 lakh Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies for insurance enrollment, supported by the Jansuraksha portal for information on PMJJBY and PMSBY schemes. The Union Budget has also increased Foreign Direct Investment in insurance companies from 74% to 100%.
