Government Revises TRP Guidelines for Accurate TV Ratings
The Government of India has published a revised draft amendment to the Policy Guidelines for Television Rating Agencies in India, initially established in 2014. This revision comes after a period of public consultation initiated on July 2, 2025, aiming to ensure fair competition and improve the accuracy of television ratings. The new guidelines, announced by Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, intend to better reflect the diverse and evolving media consumption habits of Indian viewers. A second phase of public consultation on these amendments began on November 6, 2025.
