Government Sanctions 23 Chip-Design Projects Under DLI Scheme

The Ministry of Electronics & IT has sanctioned 23 chip-design projects under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, aimed at supporting domestic companies, startups, and MSMEs in semiconductor design. The DLI Scheme, part of the 'Semicon India Programme' with a total outlay of ₹76,000 crore, provides financial incentives and access to advanced Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. Since its launch in December 2021, 278 academic institutions and 72 startups have benefited from the scheme, with significant progress in chip design and commercialization.
