Government Strengthens Anti-Drug Measures

The Government of India has initiated various efforts in coordination with Central and State Drug Law Enforcement Agencies to combat drug trafficking. Measures include setting up a 4-tier Narco-Coordination Centre mechanism, establishing Anti-Narcotics Task Forces across all States/UTs, and empowering Border Guarding Forces and Railway Protection Forces under the NDPS Act for enforcement at borders and rail routes. Notable operations include a significant drug seizure in Maharashtra. The government also focuses on rehabilitation and public awareness, including initiatives like the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan' and providing financial support for rehabilitation centers.
