Government Strengthens Cybersecurity Across Critical Sectors

The Indian government has conducted over 9,700 cybersecurity audits in critical sectors such as power, transport, and banking during the fiscal year 2024-25. The audits, carried out by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) and the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC), aim to enhance cyber resilience and ensure the safety of digital and physical infrastructure. The government has also established sector-specific Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) and developed indigenous cybersecurity tools to reduce reliance on foreign solutions. Additionally, a Cyber Crisis Management Plan (CCMP) has been formulated to coordinate responses to cyber threats, with workshops conducted to educate government bodies on cybersecurity preparedness.
