Government Strengthens PACS in Odisha Through Modernization Initiatives

The Ministry of Cooperation, since its inception in 2021, has focused on strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in Odisha by modernizing and diversifying their operations. Of the 4,262 PACS in the state, 4,147 are operational, with 4,240 sanctioned for computerization under the PACS project with a ₹18.07 crore release for FY 2025-26. National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed substantial funds for Odisha's cooperative development, contributing to the national effort of integrating PACS into decentralized grain storage and expanding their range of business activities. This initiative facilitates financial inclusion and operational efficiency for small and marginal farmers across India, improving local procurement and warehousing capabilities.
