Government Support for Flood-Affected Punjab

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the Modi government's commitment to assist flood-affected individuals in Punjab. During a meeting with Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, it was revealed that the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) has sufficient resources amounting to ₹12,589.59 crore for immediate relief. Prime Minister Modi had previously announced ₹1,600 crore in financial aid, of which ₹805 crore has already been disbursed. An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) was formed for damage assessment, but the state has yet to submit a detailed memorandum for further assistance.
