Government Takes Action Against Telecom Fraud, Disconnects 13.6 Million Numbers
The Union Minister of Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, announced in Parliament that over 13.6 million mobile numbers have been disconnected as part of a nationwide initiative to combat telecom fraud. The government has implemented various tech-enabled measures, including the Sanchar Saathi portal and a Digital Intelligence Platform, to enhance fraud prevention and protect citizens. BSNL's subscriber base has also increased to 9.1 crore, supported by a revival package. The government is committed to strengthening public sector telecom services and developing indigenous technology solutions.
